In a world where digital money changes hands with the click of a button, there was a platform called Roqqu. Roqqu's big goal was to make it super easy and safe for people to buy, sell, and keep track of their digital money. It stood out because it really cared about making things easy and safe for its users, always coming up with new ideas to be better.
I was the lead designer, and I worked with a bunch of other smart designers. Our big mission was to make Roqqu even better. We wanted to make sure people in Africa and Europe could use Roqqu too, by adding cool new things that would make them love using it. Roqqu wasn't just any site; it was a place where you could do all sorts of things with digital money, like trading and keeping it safe.

The Big Challenge
As the lead product designer, my main goal was to boost Roqqu’s business by improving how users interact with our app and web platform. Roqqu offers a full suite of features for trading, investing, and managing wallets, but the interface was a bit messy and not very engaging. This was slowing down our push into new markets in Africa and Europe. The project focused on cleaning up these issues by introducing new, consistent features that make the platform easier and more enjoyable to use, helping to draw in more users and support Roqqu’s growth in key areas.
As the lead product designer, my main goal was to boost Roqqu’s business by improving how users interact with our app and web platform. Roqqu offers a full suite of features for trading, investing, and managing wallets, but the interface was a bit messy and not very engaging. This was slowing down our push into new markets in Africa and Europe. The project focused on cleaning up these issues by introducing new, consistent features that make the platform easier and more enjoyable to use, helping to draw in more users and support Roqqu’s growth in key areas.
Our Big Plan
Make It Super Easy to Use: We wanted anyone, whether they were new or knew a lot about digital money, to find using Roqqu a breeze.
Make Everything Match: We wanted Roqqu to look and feel the same everywhere, so people wouldn't get lost or confused.
Grow Bigger: We wanted Roqqu to be known and used by more people in Africa and Europe.
Get People Excited: We wanted to add new stuff that would make people really happy and keep them coming back.

These essential early steps allowed us to deeply analyze the current design elements, setting a solid foundation for a unified and efficient design system. By bringing our heads together for collaborative documentation, and leveraging the insights from both the audit and system design, we prepared the groundwork for a project that was not only well-informed but also visually striking.

As we ventured into the European market, it became essential to refine the app's entry point to accommodate new European users while ensuring the changes didn't disrupt our existing local user base. We simplified the onboarding process into clear, manageable steps, making it straightforward for users to see what's required to open an account and get started.
Aware of the possibility that users might feel overwhelmed by the steps or become sidetracked, we implemented a feature to save their progress, allowing them to pick up exactly where they left off when completing the forms.

In the creative hub of our canvas, we embarked on a mission to transform Roqqu's homepage into a welcoming beacon for digital explorers. Recognizing its role as the first encounter in our users' journey, we aimed to simplify and enrich their experience.
We introduced a quick action tab, a beacon guiding users to discover Roqqu's treasures at a glance. An orb in the bottom navigation became a magical portal, encapsulating both old and new features of our digital realm.
Responding to feedback, we partnered with our marketing wizards to illuminate each app update with video walkthroughs, ensuring no new feature remained hidden from our users' gaze.
Further enriching the homepage, we added widgets displaying news, trending trades, and the ups and downs of the market. These elements transformed the homepage into a compass for informed exploration, making every visit a step into a story of discovery and empowerment within the Roqqu universe.

Following this feature's introduction, we saw a significant uptick in user activity, with 12,000 new sign-ups recorded in just 7 days after its debut in the fourth quarter of 2023.
This move effectively enhanced engagement and attracted a wave of new users to our platform giving us ideas to introduce more gamefi experience.
